Wood's Heating Service is an HVAC and home comfort company in East Providence, Rhode Island. Serving Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts since 1923, the company delivers home heating oil and propane, services and installs heating and cooling equipment, and provides air conditioning, natural gas, and residential generator services. Its heating oil delivery serves more than 7,000 local residents, and more than 3,000 have chosen the company for air conditioning work. Wood's Heating Service holds a rating of 3.80.

The company was started in 1923 by Etta Steere Wood and her husband, Seth Wood, who opened a gas station at the corner of Warren and Pawtucket Avenues in East Providence. Etta had graduated from Bryant College in 1915, and it was her idea that the couple run their own business. The couple's children, Edna and Seth, pitched in, and Seth continued in the family business after serving in the United States Air Force during World War II. By then the business had begun delivering coal and heating oil, and he started its 24-hour service commitment so a customer with a heating problem could always reach help.

Wood's Heating Service offers heating oil and propane delivery, heating service plans, and the TankSure program. Its natural gas services include converting oil heating systems to natural gas, maintenance and replacement of natural gas equipment, installation of energy-efficient systems, and emergency repair. Two natural gas service and protection plans are available, including a Basic Protection Plan with on-call access to service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and no charges for covered services performed between 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. The company also sponsored a family in need through the East Bay Community Action Adopt-a-Family program.

The business sits on Boyd Ave, about 0.2 miles from the East Shore Expressway and 0.4 miles from Warren Avenue. The East Providence Expressway is roughly half a mile away, as is the Wampanoag Trail, and the Fuller Branch East Providence Public Library is about 0.6 miles from the location.

Wood's Heating Service has kept Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts homes warm for over a century, and its heating oil, propane, and equipment service in East Providence carries that history forward.
