Unconventional Kitchen

Unconventional Kitchen is a Catering business in Pittsburgh, PA, located at 8200 McKnight Rd. They provide chef-driven meals and bakery items for gatherings of 10 or more, serving groups for weddings, corporate functions, business meetings, religious milestones, and weeknight dinners. Service options include pickup, delivery, and fully staffed service with professional servers and coordination. The kitchen prepares handcrafted pastries, breads, and desserts made fresh daily, as well as home-style meals available for pickup only, designed to be heated at home. Every meal is prepared with locally sourced ingredients.

The enterprise was established by Vincentian Collaborative System, which transformed the historic St. Louise Convent kitchen in McCandless into a nonprofit culinary operation. The business operates on a principle that 100% of proceeds from every meal, catering order, and bakery item are reinvested into Vincentian’s human services programs. These programs provide compassionate care to Pittsburghers, from infants to older adults, with dignity and care. The culinary team includes Chef Kevin, who graduated from the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute in 1994. He previously worked at the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island, Florida, and served as executive chef at Savoy and The Café at the Frick. He founded Pittsburgh Premier Catering in 2008 and has provided private chef services to Pittsburgh Steelers players Jerome Bettis and Alan Faneca, as well as cooked for President George W. Bush. Jeramiah leads events, hospitality, and marketing, bringing a background in large fundraisers and community celebrations to the catering operations.

Unconventional Kitchen offers locally sourced, chef-prepared meals in Pittsburgh that support the Vincentian mission of serving the community.
