Shannon Construction Company

Shannon Construction Company is a construction company in Pittsburgh, PA. It works as a general contractor and construction manager, serving the greater Pittsburgh area and the surrounding region on commercial projects. The company's stated aim is to complete projects on time and within budget, and its services cover planning, design, communication and management across a commercial build. Shannon Construction won a 2024 MBA Award for its renovation of WVU's historic Chitwood Hall, a 130-year-old building that required custom-built windows and work around hidden hazards.

The company dates to 1927 and remains under third-generation family ownership. It describes its heritage as a legacy of craftsmanship and service, built on treating people fairly and doing the right thing, values it says have carried through its generations. Today it operates as a multi-million dollar business using current construction technology while keeping that craft tradition. Its workforce averages 15 years of service, and the company credits planning, design, clear communication and efficient management as the foundation of a successful commercial project. The team spans leadership, estimating, project management, superintendents, foremen and support staff, along with a dedicated government program team. Ken Schultz serves as president and Sandy Shaw as vice president.

The office sits on West Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh, a short walk from the intersection with McFarland Road and Washington Road. Dormont Junction train station is about a tenth of a mile away, and Jubilee Christian School and the Lavina Avenue Garden are each roughly two-tenths of a mile from the office.

With nearly a century of continuous operation in Pittsburgh and a third generation at the helm, Shannon Construction brings long-standing local roots to commercial general contracting and construction management in the city.
