Hershey Bros Transmission LLC is a transmission shop in Lancaster, PA. The shop was founded in 1953 by the Hershey brothers, Chub and Ken, who both grew up and lived in Lancaster. Chub had spent time in Pearl Harbor with the Navy, and Ken worked on airplane engine repair at Middletown Air Base during World War II. Ken attended the GM Training School for Hydramatic Automatic Transmissions early on and soon specialized in automatic transmission work while Chub handled general repairs and later stage inspections. The business started as Hershey Bros. Garage in a rented four-bay building on Hand Avenue, then moved in 1960 to a new shop at 1023 Ranck Mill Road that had a beauty shop in front and the garage in the rear, with radiant heated floors, no lifts, and under-car work done on jack stands. Chub retired around 1978 and Ken continued the business on his own, focusing on automatic transmission repair. In 1981 he built the current facility on Ranck Avenue, just around the corner from the previous location. The shop sits on three acres with plenty of parking and now has six lifts, space for several more cars on the floor, an office and waiting room, a lunch room, and ample parts storage. John Summers joined Ken in 1965 and Terry Erb is also part of the team.

The shop on Ranck Avenue is a short distance from East Walnut Street and Grofftown Road, and within a few blocks of Lincoln Junior High School and Burrowes Elementary School. The Lancaster Public Works Operations Center is nearby, and Thaddeus Stevens College of Engineering and Technology, located on Orange Street, is a short drive away.

Hershey Bros Transmission LLC is AAA approved and a member of ATSG and AASP, and received a 2017 Silver Achievement Award. Warranty coverage includes 12 months or 12,000 miles on repairs and heavy-duty commercial rebuilds, two years or 50,000 miles on car, truck, and non-commercial rebuilds, and up to three years or 500,000 miles on replacement with a remanufactured transmission.
