After selling that building so the gas station behind it could expand, they moved the business into their family home and enclosed the patios to create an office. Al and Madeline were among the first 500 licensed tax preparers in Oregon, holding license numbers 0437 and 0438. Their son Tony helped with bookkeeping and office tasks while in high school, later took a tax preparation course, earned his licensed tax preparer credential, and checked returns for his parents during tax season. In 1982 the business had outgrown the family home, and the Bardis purchased a small building on the property where Tax & Financial Solutions stands today.
