Willow Lake Campground

Willow Lake Campground is a campground in Geneva, OH, located at 3935 N Broadway. It operates seasonally from May through October, hosting nearly 200 seasonal and overnight campsites within a 200-acre nature-rich setting. The site offers RV and overnight sites, trails, and campground activities, situated just minutes from the Geneva on the Lake attractions. The office and shop are open Sunday and Monday from 10am to 4pm, Tuesday through Thursday from 9am to 5pm, and Friday and Saturday from 9am to 7pm.

The campground has been family operated since 1969. It was originally founded by William and Lorene Klaue, who purchased an old farm in 1960 and transformed it into the site. William, a heavy equipment operator, installed the water and electric systems, dug the ponds, and graded the roads, while Lorene assisted with the electrical installation and planting of willow trees and maples from seeds. Steve Klaue, their son, grew up on the property and has been involved with the site since childhood. He currently serves as the General Manager and Master Mechanic, overseeing the grounds and maintenance. The campground is staffed by a team of seasonal employees who manage the daily operations and care for the campers.

Steve Klaue’s history with the property spans several decades. After his parents sold the campground in 1976, Steve remained to work as the Grounds Manager and Master Mechanic. He and his wife, Carole, were married on the campground grounds in 1977. Today, Steve continues to steward the site, maintaining the legacy established by the founding family. The campground shop also sells Willow Lake branded hoodies and t-shirts for guests and seasonal residents.

Willow Lake Campground in Geneva, OH, combines a long-standing family heritage with a dedicated team to provide a consistent camping experience in a natural setting near local attractions.
