The Marcy family began serving the funeral needs of Conneaut area residents in 1868, soon after the Civil War. Willard Marcy started the business in a former blacksmith shop in East Conneaut. His son Charles took over in 1896 and, after using a variety of locations, settled at the present location at the corner of Liberty and Harbor Streets in 1918. Charles was joined by his sons Hugh in 1911 and Robert C. in 1933, and Robert B. Marcy later joined as well. Bob Marcy, the fourth generation of the family to enter the business, had been a funeral director and embalmer since 1961 and worked for many years in the monument business, both in the sandblasting of markers and in sales.

The funeral home sits on Liberty Street at its corner with Harbor Street, a short distance from East Main Road. The One Step Center is about 0.1 miles away, and the Conneaut Municipal Court, Conneaut City Hall, and the Conneaut Police Department are each roughly 0.2 miles from the home.
