The Local History Room, on the main floor, holds resources on the history of Barberton, Summit County, and Ohio, including items from Sun Rubber toys, Coventry Ware collectibles, and personal items that belonged to O.C. Barber, alongside books, photographs, clothing, and historical artifacts. A Local History Librarian is available to assist with research, and the library accepts donations of materials, photographs, and artifacts related to Barberton schools, industries, and groups.

Programs include book clubs and discussions, reading challenges such as the Summer Reading Challenge, and an events calendar. Teacher loan library cards provide educators at daycares, preschools, and grades K-12, as well as youth group leaders, with a 28-day loan period and waived fines on library materials, with delivery available through the Barberton school district inter-school delivery service.
