Hazel Tree Design Studio

Hazel Tree Design Studio is an interior designer in Akron, OH, that serves residential, commercial, and public-sector clients across Northeast Ohio. The studio offers interior design, public space design, and art curation, and runs a picture framing service out of its West Market Street location. Expert framers at that same address handle family photos, heirloom shadow boxes, canvas stretching, and decorative mirrors. Hazel Tree also operates a Design Center at the West Market Street building, where interior design clients and the wider Akron community can view showroom pieces. The studio holds a rating of 5.00 based on customer reviews.

The Hazel Tree team includes co-owners Karen Starr, an interior designer, and Jon Haidet, a Certified Picture Framer, alongside interior designer Amy Benson, design assistant Lori Julien, and Steve Brightman. The studio curates custom design solutions in collaboration with local makers and artists, and its showroom stocks locally made furnishings, decor, and artwork by Northeast Ohio artists. When custom or local options are not available, the team specifies domestically manufactured and environmentally friendly materials. Hazel Tree's portfolio spans projects for private residences, commercial clients, and public spaces. Founded on a dream of a building with a tree mural and the name Hazel Tree Interiors, the business grew from that vision into its current studio. Operating hours at the Design Center are Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with the center closed Sunday and Monday.

Hazel Tree Design Studio is located at 143 West Market Street in Akron, at the building marked by a colorful tree mural facing downtown and a metal tree sculpture on the west side. The studio sits about a tenth of a mile from St. Vincent-St. Mary High School and Green Street Stadium, and just over a tenth of a mile from Cadillac Hill.

The studio's five-star rating reflects the personalized service and custom design approach that customers value, with every project drawing on the work of Northeast Ohio artisans and makers.
