Old Country Pediatrics

Old Country Pediatrics is a pediatrician in Plainview, New York, serving patients from birth through college. The general pediatrics office is staffed by two doctors who handle all pediatric illnesses, including Attention Deficit Disorder and Anxiety disorders. Routine health care covers well child visits for newborns, infants, toddlers, children, adolescents and young adults to age 21, including physical examinations, immunizations, hearing and vision screening, and counseling on growth and development, nutrition and safety. The practice also sees patients for same-day urgent care by appointment and performs school, sports, college and employment examinations and preoperative clearances. Dr. Charles L. Bruzzone studied biology at St. John's University, earned his medical degree from N.Y. Medical College, and completed his pediatric residency at New York Hospital/Cornell in New York City, where he served as chief resident. He has practiced privately in Plainview since 1992, is a clinical assistant professor at The Hofstra/Northwell school of medicine, and has been a member of the Nassau County volunteer Medical Reserves Corp. Dr. Paul Muscarello earned a Bachelor of Science with honors from Adelphi University and his Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn, then completed his pediatric internship and residency at North Shore University Hospital at Manhasset. He joined Leonard Marino Pediatrics, which became Old Country Pediatrics when Dr. Marino retired.

The practice has been established in Plainview for 22 years. Because there are only two doctors, each has an intimate knowledge of every patient, and the office prides itself on individual care and very short wait times. Doctors are on call 24/7 for after-hours problems, and the office is open seven days per week, with hours Monday 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, Tuesday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Wednesday and Thursday 8:00 am to 7:30 pm, Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am to 1:30 pm, and Sunday 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Accepted insurance includes Aetna PPO/HMO, Cigna, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, GHI/PPO, HIP, Magnacare, Multiplan, Oxford and Empire Plan.
