Contractor Express

Contractor Express is a construction company in Oceanside, NY, that has been supplying building materials, lumber, and hardware to contractors and builders on Long Island and in the five boroughs since 1981. With more than 45 years of experience, the company delivers materials from framing lumber to finish trim to active job sites, with a fleet making daily runs from Manhattan to Montauk. Contractor Express serves professional contractors with on-time delivery, a wide selection of quality materials, and a range of onsite support services including jobsite measuring, plan material takeoff, forklift delivery, boom truck services, jobsite sales support, and material planning. The company holds a 4.90 rating based on customer reviews.

The business was started by Bob Lucas, the son of a builder, who began alongside his father and five brothers. In the 1980s, the Lucas family became the first Long Island building supply company to stock #1 pressure treated lumber, a decision that set the standard for service the company is known for. Today Bob Lucas serves as President and CEO, with Greg Failla as Vice President and COO. Failla first worked at the company at 14 years old, when it was still called Lucas Stone and supplied mason supplies alongside building materials, and returned full time in 2001. Contractor Express also operates an award-winning Marvin Design Gallery and a building materials design showroom with over 4,000 square feet of working displays, including full-scale kitchen cabinets, windows, doors, siding, decking, roofing, and hardware. An adjacent lumber yard lets contractors order lumber and building products, and approved Contractor Accounts can be used to order online or by phone with same or next-day delivery. The showroom and yard are open Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM, Saturday from 7 AM to 12:30 PM, with evening appointments available on request.

The showroom and yard sit at 389 Atlantic Avenue, just off Powell Creek and about a tenth of a mile from Detective Luis G. Alvarez Memorial Park. Florence A. Smith School Oceanside #2 is roughly a third of a mile away, with the Oceanside Hose Company #1 fire station and the Oceanside Post Office both within about four-tenths of a mile.

With more than four decades serving Long Island contractors and a 4.90 rating, Contractor Express stands as one of the most established building supply operations in the Oceanside area.
