Its veterinarians treat common household pets such as dogs and cats alongside birds, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, sugar gliders, rodents, snakes, bearded dragons, chameleons, geckos, iguanas, turtles and tortoises. Beyond the main hospital, the practice operates the Harmony Pet Wellness Center in the building adjacent to the hospital within its parking lot, a dedicated space designed to reduce stress and anxiety during veterinary visits, where wellness care and other services are offered. The hospital also maintains an on-site pharmacy where clients can order medication and food for their pets. Newly adopted pets can receive a free first exam when the code ADOPT is mentioned during the visit, an offer good for patients that have never transacted at the hospital. The veterinary staff includes doctors holding CVA credentials, and the practice is an AAHA Accredited Hospital and a member of the VHMA, AAFP and AVMA, with an ABVP Certified veterinarian on the team. The hospital serves pets from White Plains, Rockland County, Nyack, Putnam, Orangeburg, Haverstraw, New City, Nanuet and the surrounding area.

For more than four decades, Valley Cottage Animal Hospital has combined emergency and wellness care for dogs, cats, birds and exotic pets under one roof, giving Nanuet-area owners a local source of veterinary medicine for animals of nearly every variety.
