Leisure Craft Pools

Leisure Craft Pools is a pool service in Lancaster, NY, specializing in the renovation, restoration, and repair of in-ground gunite pools. The company serves both residential and commercial customers with seasonal opening and closing, weekly maintenance, ceramic tile replacement, interior refinishing, concrete deck replacement, leak detection and repair, new equipment installation, and energy-efficiency upgrades such as computer-controlled systems that can be operated from a cell phone. Their process for refinishing a pool covers each stage from undercutting waterline tile and chipping out old plaster, through applying a bonding agent and installing new tile or equipment, to hand-troweling a plaster or pebble finish on site, acid-washing pebble finishes, and finishing with a walk-through once the pool is filled. Leisure Craft Pools holds a rating of 3.70.

The business was founded in 1972 by Michael Kohlhas as a family operation, with his children Laura Cravotta and Jeff Kohlhas later joining the company. Jeff serves as COO, supervising and coordinating crews in the field, while Laura serves as VP, handling residential sales. The team includes Association of Pool and Spa Professionals Certified Service Professionals and National Swimming Pool Foundation Certified Pool Operators. Their work spans a range of finishes, including Primera, Prism Matrix pebble and glass, Signature Matrix pebble, Luna Quartz, and Altima finishes, along with Marcite and options for decking and coping. Their leak detection service addresses common failure points in in-ground pools, including corroded underground plumbing, separated return pipes at the pool wall, main drain and hydrostatic relief valve leaks, skimmer pipe connections encased in concrete, and the often-overlooked equalizer line in older pools.

The office sits on Lancaster Parkway, about two-tenths of a mile from Como Park Elementary School and the Lancaster Youth Bureau, four-tenths of a mile from Lancaster Middle School and Franger Square park, and roughly seven-tenths of a mile from Cayuga Creek and Broadway Street.

Founded by the Kohlhas family and operated by the second generation more than fifty years later, Leisure Craft Pools brings long-running, family-owned expertise to gunite pool renovation and maintenance in the Lancaster area.
