Al-Mamoor School

Al-Mamoor School is a religious school in Fresh Meadows, New York. It serves students from preschool through grade 12, offering a sound Islamic Studies, Quran and Arabic curriculum alongside academics in language, mathematics, science, and social studies. The school participates in the UPK program funded by New York City, and its teaching practices focus on the moral, spiritual, and academic development of children, with an emphasis on critical thinking and diversified learning. Students take part in competitions in Quran, calligraphy, Islamic studies, debate, speech, math, history, and spelling bee. Daily Salaah is held in school, with special arrangements for Jummah prayer, and a collaborative PTA addresses issues of concern to families.

Founded in 2003, Al-Mamoor School began with one kindergarten class of 18 students in the basement of the Jamaica Muslim Center. Through the dedication of students, parents, and staff, it grew into a school building with capacity for 250 students, and it is now working on a project for a facility to serve over 500 students and act as a center for the community. The school's mission is to provide students the opportunity to succeed academically while maintaining an Islamic environment, helping them develop love, appreciation, and understanding of Islam and preparing them to become critical thinkers who participate in enriching society.

The school is located on Parsons Blvd, about 0.1 miles from Parsons Boulevard and Union Turnpike. It sits about 0.2 miles from the office of Assemblymember Rozic, FDNY E315 L125, I.S. 250 - Robert F. Kennedy Middle School, and P255Q.

Al-Mamoor School has grown from a single kindergarten class in a mosque basement to one of the leading Islamic schools in New York City, an independent institution shaped by the support of board members, staff, community members, and students.
