Windsor School

The Windsor School is an independent, coeducational middle and high school in Flushing, New York, serving students in grades 7 through 12. It draws students from the surrounding communities and from various foreign countries, and has been enrolling international students since the mid-1970s. The academic program is rigorous: students are expected to take four years of mathematics and science in addition to social studies and English, with courses rounded out by electives, art, or Advanced Placement classes. Courses of study are updated and revised to meet the Learning Standards of New York State and the National Common Core. A six-week summer program offers Regents classes for credit advancing, enrichment, or credit recovery.

The school's facility is described as modern, comfortable, and quiet, and small classes support an experienced staff. On-site physical education includes yoga, aerobics, and table tennis. The soccer team plays and practices at nearby Flushing Meadows Park, the Flushing YMCA serves as practice facility and home court for basketball, and the National Tennis Center is also used. The Windsor School Math Team finished second overall in New York State. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools since 1976, most recently re-accredited for the period May 1, 2019 to May 1, 2026, and it met and exceeded all twelve MSA Standards. It is registered by the New York State Education Department, is a member of the College Entrance Examination Board and The College Scholarship Service, holds membership in the New York State Association of Independent Schools, and is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant alien students.

The school sits on Main Street, a short walk from Northern Boulevard and Flushing Greens park, with Kon Wah Day School and the Navy Recruiting Station Flushing both about a tenth of a mile away.

Families in Flushing looking for a college preparatory middle and high school with small classes, Regents credit options, and a long record of enrolling students from abroad will find that combination at The Windsor School.
