Island Kids Early Childhood Center of East Northport

Island Kids Early Childhood Center of East Northport is a daycare in East Northport, NY. The center provides early childhood care and education for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, serving families with children from 6 weeks through 5 years old. Its programs are organized into three age groups: infants (6 weeks to 24 months), toddlers (24 to 36 months), and preschoolers (3 and 4 year olds). The center holds a rating of 4.20.

Island Kids has been family-owned and operated since 1999, founded by the Rees family to provide the local community with early childhood care and education. After more than 25 years, the founders remain actively involved in daily operations, present in the building and making decisions about each school rather than serving as absentee owners. The family notes that as residents of the community and parents of four children themselves, they bring a personal understanding to the needs of local families. The center operates with a mission to provide a safe, developmentally appropriate environment that promotes each child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. Cleanliness and safety are priorities, and Island Kids has been voted "Best Day Care" by the Northport Patch Readers. The Rees family encourages prospective families to arrange a visit for a guided tour with one of the directors.

The center sits on Laurel Avenue, less than a tenth of a mile from the Northport Public Library and from the administrative offices of William J. Brosnan School, with Fort Salonga Road nearby as a main road. Soper Mini Park is roughly a third of a mile away.

The 4.20 rating reflects the experiences of the families who have reviewed the center, and that feedback aligns with the family's long-standing presence and recognition as a Northport Patch Readers' choice. As a locally owned early childhood center that has served East Northport since 1999, Island Kids continues to provide care for infants through preschoolers under the daily oversight of its founding family.
