Forest Automotive

Forest Automotive is an auto repair shop in Buffalo, NY, located on Forest Avenue. The shop has been serving the area since the winter of 2012/2013 and holds a rating of 4.80 from customer reviews. Open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5:30pm, Forest Automotive operates as a NYS inspection station and a full service automotive repair facility, handling alignments alongside a broad range of mechanical work.

The shop specializes in electrical and computer related diagnostics, with three NYS safety inspectors on staff. Forest Automotive offers oil changes using either NAPA conventional or Mobil One Full Synthetic motor oil, and accommodates customer preferences for specific oils and filters. Every new vehicle is checked against factory maintenance charts, and the shop tracks service history to advise owners on what is due next. Air conditioning service is available, as is tire sales through sourcing rather than stocking inventory on site.

The team is led by co-founder Jonah, a Buffalo City Honors graduate who went on to study physics at University at Buffalo, and Brian, a certified ASE technician and NYS safety inspector who moved to Buffalo in 2004 and joined Jonah to open the shop in 2013. Brian handles many of the more complicated diagnostic problems that come through the door. Matt, who joined in 2022 and also holds NYS safety inspector credentials, grew up working on cars with his family in East Aurora. Dave, another NYS safety inspector, came aboard after years of touring with hardcore music bands.

Forest Automotive is a short walk from several notable sites on Buffalo's west side. The Buffalo History Museum Resource Center and the Richardson Olmsted Complex South Lawn are about a fifth of a mile away, with Allison Park and the West Side Buffalo Post Office within roughly a third of a mile.

With a 4.80 rating and a team of certified inspectors on hand, Forest Automotive has built a steady reputation for diagnostics and general repair on Buffalo's west side since opening in 2013.
