DOuGTrainer

DOuGTrainer is a dog training service in Whitney, NV, located at 524 Chelsea Dr. It provides mobile in-home training locally across Henderson and Las Vegas, Nevada, and offers remote video training worldwide using Zoom, Jitsi, or Google Meet. The business holds a 5.00 rating based on customer reviews and has maintained zero negative reviews since 2014.

The business utilizes Reflective Dog Leadership (RDL), an unconventional, holistic approach that focuses on educating the human rather than just training the dog. Instead of using traditional obedience methods, collars, clickers, treats, medications, or muzzles, the training works with a dog's natural energy and submission. The methodology aims to help owners read their dog's natural behaviors and "tells," such as sniffing, yawning, or eye contact, to establish a relationship where the dog feels relaxed enough to submit. This approach is intended for owners who have tried conventional training without success or those dealing with reactivity, barking, lunging, aggression, or separation anxiety.

Training sessions are conducted at the client's home. A typical schedule involves four visits over three weeks, though aggressive dogs may require more time. The process emphasizes direct communication, as the business prioritizes voice conversations to accurately evaluate situations. Text messages are received but require a scheduled follow-up voice call. Consultations are available in both English and conversational Spanish. The business has been providing training since 2009.

The business is known for its natural, non-coercive methods that prioritize the dog's ability to relax and submit through human patience and leadership.

DOuGTrainer provides holistic, in-home dog training services for owners in Whitney and the surrounding Nevada areas.
