Ascend Martial Arts of Reno

Ascend Martial Arts of Reno is a martial arts school in Reno, Nevada, teaching multidisciplinary martial arts that include Taekwondo, Boxing, Muay Thai, and Jiu-Jitsu. The school has been teaching the Reno community since 1999, when it was known as Cancino's Black Belt Academy, LLC. It holds a rating of 4.90 from the customers who have reviewed it.

Programs are organized by age and level. The Lil' Dragons program serves children ages 5 to 7, building motor skills, stranger danger awareness, and discipline. The Foundational program is open to all ages and covers self-defense, life skills, and family training. The Elevated program prepares students for black belt rank through advanced sparring technique, gymnastic tricking, and weaponry handling. Seasonal camps run as week-long bootcamps focused on martial arts fundamentals, games, and time with classmates. Martial arts parties let children serve as an honorary black belt for the day, use the school's equipment, and invite friends. The Legacy leadership academy trains students in instruction, teamwork, and civic engagement.

The school is affiliated with the National Martial Arts Alliance, alongside more than 50 schools around the United States and the world. Instruction is led by Master Mark Cancino, a 6th degree black belt and chief instructor, supported by head instructors Mr. Daniel Bautista and Ms. Alysha Cancino, both 4th degree black belts, and program director Ms. Leanne Dayao. Lead and assistant instructors hold ranks from 1st through 3rd degree black belt. Ascend operates two locations in Reno, Nevada, and one in Selma, California.
