The curriculum is designed to nurture a child’s musical growth regardless of the parent’s own musical ability. Director Alyson Cohn and Instructor Janica Carpenter lead families in fun musical activities using songs from the KAZOO Song Collection. Each family receives a personal bag of instruments for use in class, which are thoroughly disinfected between sessions. Participants are also provided with a CD, songbook, digital access code, and bonus activities to continue musical engagement at home. Families are asked to bring their own blankets or mats to sit on during the indoor classes, which are held in spacious, well-ventilated rooms. The program aims to build basic musical skills that help children enjoy school and social musical activities, and prepare them to study an instrument if they choose to do so.
