Summit City Farms & Winery of Union City is part of Summit City Farms, a family-owned vertically integrated agribusiness that has served the New Jersey area since 1922. The parent operation includes a wholesale working farm with peach, nectarine, and apple orchards, along with other crops such as asparagus, grapes, and mushrooms. Founded in 1922 by Italian immigrants Gaetano DeEugenio and his wife Pasqueta on 7.5 acres in Glassboro, the farm expanded to 150 acres in the 1950s under Gaetano’s sons Anthony, Joseph, and Lewis Sr. The name Summit City Farms was added after the Johnson-Kosygin Summit in 1967. The farm now spans approximately 500 acres under the ownership of Lewis Sr., Lewis Jr., and their wives Alyse and Leila, with Ted Mlinar serving as field manager since 1991.

The winery opened in 2014 and features a state-of-the-art tasting room. It offers over 30 varieties of wines, including fruit, red, white, sweet, and table wines, many produced on the farm’s farmland in Glassboro. In April 2025, Summit City Winery Food Service began operating, providing a menu of specialty flatbreads and pizzas from a Ravelli wood-fired oven. The facility also displays memorabilia from South Jersey and Glassboro, collected by the late Lewis DeEugenio Sr.

Visitors can attend weekly wine and music nights, DJ music nights, private wine pairing events, and holiday events. The winery is open Friday from 4 pm to 8 pm, Saturday from 1 pm to 8 pm, and Sunday from 1 pm to 6 pm, with extended hours until 10 pm on music nights.
