In addition to supplying wholesale fruits, the winery produces more than 30 varieties of wines, including fruit wines, reds, whites, sweet wines, and table wines. The operation is rooted in a century of local history, having been founded in 1922 by Gaetano DeEugenio and his wife Pasqueta on a 7.5-acre plot in the Ridge section of Glassboro. Early crops included apples, asparagus, grapes, mushrooms, and peaches. The farm expanded to 150 acres in the 1950s under the ownership of Gaetano’s sons, Anthony, Joseph, and Lewis Sr. The name Summit City Farms was adopted after the Johnson-Kosygin Summit in 1967. By the late 1990s, the property had grown to approximately 500 acres under the stewardship of Lewis Sr., Lewis Jr., and their wives, Alyse and Leila.

The winery component opened in 2014, featuring a tasting room that offers deli snacks and cheeses alongside the wine selection. In April 2025, the business launched Summit City Winery Food Service, which serves specialty flatbreads and pizzas from a Ravelli wood-fired oven. The venue hosts weekly wine and music nights, private wine pairing events, and holiday gatherings. The tasting rooms display memorabilia of South Jersey, particularly items collected by the late Lewis DeEugenio Sr. over a lifetime. The winery is open on Fridays from 4pm to 8pm, Saturdays from 1pm to 8pm, and Sundays from 1pm to 6pm, with extended hours until 10pm on music nights.
