Oriental and area rug cleaning is the company's specialty. Each rug is assessed and pre-treated for stains, cleaned by ultrasonic vibration followed by a hand wash with mild, eco-friendly detergents, then press-dried on re-stretch frames and brushed or groomed to restore pile and fringe. The process preserves fiber integrity and original colors, removes embedded dirt, odors, and allergens, and is safe for vintage and fine rugs. Optional repairs include fringe work, reweaving, and recoloring.

Upholstery cleaning begins with an assessment of each piece's material, age, and color to determine the right approach. Technicians then remove dirt, spots, and allergens, address pet, child, and food odors trapped in the fabric, and apply stain-resistant protection to extend the life of the furniture. The company also offers pickup, delivery, and disposal services, and backs its work with a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee. It combines advanced cleaning technology with time-tested methods.

The business sits on Bank Street in Morristown, a short walk from Market Street and about a tenth of a mile from the Morris County - Schuyler Annex, the Morris County Soil Conservation District, and Washington Engine Co. 1. The Continental Army Encampments 1776-1782 memorial is also roughly a tenth of a mile away.

More than a century of continuous operation in Morristown, a positive rating from reviewers, and a specialty in delicate Oriental and area rugs set Wells Rug Services apart among carpet cleaners in the city.
