The practice was founded by owner and director Micki Frazier, LCSW, who grew up in Marlboro, New Jersey, earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at Boston University and a Master's Degree in Social Work from Simmons College, and spent eight years working in a juvenile detention facility helping incarcerated teenagers. She started her own solo practice in Hillsborough in April 2017. The team includes an assistant director, Amy Simko, and a clinical team of licensed social workers and counselors. Sessions draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which focuses on challenging unhelpful cognitive distortions and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and building coping strategies, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, which teaches living in the moment, coping with stress, and regulating emotions. New clients contact the practice to discuss their reasons for seeking therapy, insurance information, and scheduling needs; the practice then contacts the insurance company to determine mental health benefits and matches the client with a therapist. An initial appointment covers what brought the client to therapy, background information, and personal goals. Telehealth is available as an option for appointments. MKF Counseling's 5.00 rating reflects the experiences of the customers who have reviewed it. For Manville residents seeking support for depression, anxiety, or relationship challenges, the practice brings together a licensed clinical team and a range of treatment approaches close to home.
