The practice is led by Dr. Karly McDermott, DACM L.Ac, Dipl. O.M., a board certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine licensed to practice acupuncture and herbology in New Jersey. Raised in Fair Haven by two chiropractors, she came to acupuncture in high school after a lung infection affected her active lifestyle and acupuncture and herbal medicine brought her relief. She holds a doctorate in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science and completed a year-long internship at a public student clinic in downtown Manhattan. She has worked in two integrated practices and trained in aesthetic acupuncture and facial techniques under a celebrity acupuncturist. Her approach treats the body holistically, addressing the root cause of symptoms rather than only the symptoms themselves.
