The boutique studio operates from a Westfield, NJ location and is known for a fresh approach to modern traditional interiors that blend classic elements with unexpected points of view. Founder Ellie Mroz, a Cornell University graduate, applied her background in fashion, jewelry design, and merchandising to interiors, focusing on proportion, texture, color, and styling. The design philosophy centers on creating spaces that are polished but not overly formal, elevated yet approachable, and designed for real family life. The firm handles space planning, custom window treatments, hardware, procurement, delivery, and installation, guiding clients through an eight-step process from wishlist to reveal.

Ellie Mroz Design works alongside Michael Robert Construction, the residential remodeling and custom home building company owned by Ellie’s husband, Mike Mroz. This collaboration, branded as MRCxEMD, allows architectural decisions, construction details, finishes, and interiors to be coordinated from the initial concept phase. The team shapes architectural details and selects finishes while plans are still on paper, ensuring a cohesive result where construction and design expertise arrive at the same table. Services extend to exterior transformations, including pools, patios, and outdoor living spaces.

The business maintains a 5.00 rating from customers who have reviewed its work, reflecting a reputation for creativity, organization, and personalized service. Clients frequently note the team’s ability to understand their vision and manage the entire process, from sourcing furnishings to scheduling deliveries, with transparency and attention to detail. The studio’s hands-on approach ensures that every order is tracked and installed, relieving clients of logistical burdens.

Ellie Mroz Design brings its signature modern traditional style and integrated design-build perspective to homes across New Jersey, creating spaces that feel distinctly like the people living in them.
