Amwell Auto Body

Amwell Auto Body is a family-owned body shop in Hillsborough, NJ, located at 138 US-206. It has been repairing collision-related vehicles for almost 55 years, serving Somerset County since 1970. The business operates out of a 20,000-square-foot facility and is a direct repair shop for most major insurance companies.

Three generations of the Krachun family have operated the business. Michael Krachun started the business in a small garage in Neshanic Station in the early 1970s. He worked at a local body shop during the day and repaired cars at night for a local Ford dealership. Michael purchased George’s Auto Body on Amwell Road and renamed it Amwell Auto Body. Around 1977, the business moved to an old state trooper barracks in the northern part of Hillsborough on Route 206. The first building was 5,000 square feet, and an addition later brought the facility to approximately 12,000 square feet. Michael Jr. now runs the business with the help of the third generation, Ryan and Jessica.
