Collingswood Sew & Vacuum

Collingswood Sew & Vacuum is an appliance store in Collingswood, NJ, serving the South Jersey area near Philadelphia. The shop sells and repairs sewing machines and vacuum cleaners, carrying brands including BabyLock, Miele, Dyson, Janome, Riccar, Pfaff, Husqvarna Viking, Brother, Elna, Necchi, and Singer, along with Horn and Koala sewing cabinets and furniture. Repairs are offered on all makes and ages of machines, and free estimates are provided. The business is family owned and has been in operation for 52 years, and its pricing on major brands runs lower than typical internet pricing.

The shop handles both types of machines under one roof. On the vacuum side, the staff services bagless and bagged models and helps customers compare the two, with sales and repairs on Miele, Dyson, and Riccar units. On the sewing side, the store covers embroidery, serger, overlock, and standard machines, and assists with buying decisions through a guide called "The Thinking Person's Guide to Vacuum Cleaner Buying" that customers can request by email. Customers are encouraged to email for current in-stock and sale pricing rather than call, with most messages answered within an hour.

The store sits on Haddon Avenue in Collingswood. Hours run Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10 to 5, and Saturday from 10 to 2, with the shop closed Tuesday and Sunday.

A rating of 4.70 reflects the experience customers have had with the business. After more than five decades of family ownership, the store's combination of sewing and vacuum expertise under a single roof, set in historic Collingswood, gives local crafters and homeowners one place to turn for sales, service, and free estimates on virtually any brand.
