Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture of Omaha

Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture of Omaha is an architecture firm in Omaha, Nebraska. Its clients range from developers to non-profits, and its work spans libraries, museums, corporate headquarters, schools, apartments, and community and church projects. Named projects include the Omaha Central Library, Millwork Commons, the Omaha Children's Museum, The Foundation Offices, Memoir, Scoular Corporate Headquarters, Southeast Community College, Springfield Elementary School, Hello Apartments, Countryside Community Church, and Spreetail. The firm holds a rating of 4.80.

The practice began in a spare bedroom and has grown to a 68-person office in North Downtown Omaha. Its stated commitments are to put people first, advance design, and build community, and it describes collaborative thinking as the hallmark of its approach to design, working closely with each client. The studio occupies the first floor of the Tip Top Building, a space the firm describes as open, inclusive, non-hierarchical, and creative. The firm also maintains an office in Red Oak, Iowa.

The office sits at 1516 Cuming Street, on Cuming Street itself, with North 16th Street and North 14th Street each about a tenth of a mile away. The public artworks IDEAL and The Road to Omaha and the Rasmussen Center are roughly two-tenths of a mile from the office.

The firm's work has been recognized locally: the Shirley Tyree Theater received an Architectural Honor Award from AIA Nebraska. It is the architect of record for the new Omaha Children's Museum, and it has worked with Community Alliance for more than 30 years, including on that organization's Center for Mental Health. The Joslyn reopened with a new addition and renovated spaces and grounds, and Millwork Commons continues to develop.

From a spare bedroom to a 68-person studio on Cuming Street, Alley Poyner Macchietto has shaped libraries, museums, schools, and headquarters across Omaha.
