Buzzard Billy's

Buzzard Billy's is a restaurant in Lincoln, Nebraska, serving Cajun and Creole cooking in the heart of the Haymarket District. The kitchen turns out blackened ribeye steak sandwiches, chicken in Creole parmesan cream sauce, lobster mac and cheese, shrimp sauteed in white wine butter sauce, mushroom Swiss burgers with sweet potato waffle fries, and armadillo eggs. Brunch runs every Sunday from 10am to 2pm, with Saturday brunch hours that shift by season: 10am to 2pm from November through April, and 8am to 11am from May through October during Farmers Market hours. The brunch menu includes a classic breakfast with eggs, hashbrowns or country potatoes and a choice of sausage, bacon or jalapeno bacon; biscuits and gravy; chicken and biscuits with hand breaded tenders; a nine-ounce chicken fried steak with eggs; a Big Red breakfast burrito and a giant breakfast burrito; and French toast, including a platter with eggs, potato and a choice of protein. The drink list covers soft drinks with free refills on pop, tea and coffee, fresh brewed iced tea, homemade sweet tea, coffee made from fresh ground whole beans, and a full range of sodas.

The restaurant sits on North 8th Street, a block from North 9th Street and O Street. The Haymarket neighborhood surrounds it, with The Haymarket Theatre about a tenth of a mile away, Bill Harris Iron Horse Park and the Iron Horse public artwork both roughly a tenth of a mile off.

Buzzard Billy's hosts private parties, birthdays, office functions and other special occasions, and offers catering packages for events including holiday parties, corporate gatherings and wedding festivities. Online ordering is available for pickup and delivery, and reservations are recommended ahead of time.
