Hearing Aid Center of Columbus

Hearing Aid Center of Columbus is an audiologist practice in Columbus, Nebraska, serving patients who are dealing with hearing loss. The practice provides hearing tests, personalized hearing aid fittings with a no-obligation trial, hearing aid repairs for most major brands, custom earmold impressions for hearing protection, musician molds and swim molds, hearing aid batteries, and assistive listening devices such as TV Ears. It also offers medical referrals, hearing awareness programs, aural rehabilitation at no cost, and continuing hearing consultations. Tim Joyce is the owner and a Hearing Instrument Specialist on staff.

The practice has been helping the Columbus community hear better since 1988. Its stated approach is to treat each patient as a family member and to evaluate hearing, communication needs and goals before recommending a treatment plan, with the aim of recommending only what a patient actually needs. As part of the nationwide Starkey network, the practice follows standards built around honor, integrity and trust with each patient. In-office testing includes a pressure test to check the flexibility of the eardrum and its ability to transmit sound, a tone test measuring how softly tones of different pitches can be heard and charted on an audiogram, and a speech test in which patients repeat words or sentences at different volumes. A free online hearing test and a hearing loss simulator are also offered. Appointments are available Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00am to 4:30pm.

The office sits on 23rd Street, about a tenth of a mile from the highway of the same name. Gruenther Park and Adamy Park are each roughly two-tenths of a mile away, Saint Isidore Elementary School is about three-tenths of a mile away, and 33rd Avenue is about four-tenths of a mile from the practice.

The practice holds a rating of 5.00 from the customer who has reviewed it.

For Columbus residents weighing whether their hearing has changed, the practice pairs testing equipment and a sound-proof facility with more than three decades of local service.
