Dancers Edge

Dancers Edge is a dance studio in Winston-Salem, NC. It offers classes in jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, and boys only classes, along with combination classes for younger students that bring together ballet, tap, and tumbling for children ages 2 to 6. Summer classes, clinics, and workshops give dancers additional training in many styles, taught by in-house staff and guest artists from across the country. The studio holds a rating of 4.60.

Classes are held in a facility of more than 17,000 square feet at 420 Jonestown Road, Suite R, which includes six dance rooms, a tumbling floor, a student lounge, and dressing and locker rooms. Dancers Edge describes its training as consistent and structured, with most class sizes limited to allow for individual attention, and many classes include both an instructor and an assistant. Instruction spans beginners through pre-professionals, and every student who participates in the year-end recital receives recognition and a trophy. Competition teams, recitals, and summer workshops round out the year, and summer sessions run as five-week blocks that include jazz, tap, hip hop, and lyrical/jazz, with guest artist events scheduled for July 2026.

Dancers Edge has been recognized as one of the top 50 dance studios in the nation for excellence in technique and training, and by Industry Dance Awards and the Federation of Dance Competitions as one of the top studios in the nation. Dancer Magazine recognized it as the NC studio with the best technique in the nation, and it has been named Best of Winston-Salem Dance Company by the U.S. Commerce Association. Cathy-Lee Hambright received the Community Dance Educator of the Year award for her approach to dance and teaching.

For families across Winston-Salem and the Triad, Dancers Edge pairs competitive-level training with classes built for beginners, giving young dancers in the area a place to start, advance, and perform.
