Habitat ReStore -- Clayton is a furniture store in Clayton, North Carolina. It sells donated and surplus home goods, and the store's stock includes building supplies, new cabinets and flooring alongside furniture. The ReStore accepts donations and welcomes volunteers, and its proceeds fund Habitat's work building affordable homes in the community. It holds a rating of 4.00 from the customers who have reviewed it.
The Clayton ReStore held a grand reopening on November 9, 2024, at a new location on Highway 42 West. The new store is 16,000 square feet larger than the former location, space that allows for the sale of a wider range of inventory. Habitat Wake CEO Patricia Burch said the expansion brings more shopping, donating and volunteering opportunities to Johnston County.
Habitat opened the first Johnston County ReStore in June 2018, on Highway Business 70, after Habitat Wake and Habitat Johnston became one organization earlier that year to bring more resources and support to Johnston County. The Clayton ReStore became the eighth ReStore Habitat managed in the Triangle at the time. Since then, Habitat volunteers have helped construct 11 new homes in addition to the 18 existing Habitat homes already in Johnston County, and a 15-home community is currently underway in Clayton.
The store is open Monday through Friday from 10am to 6pm and Saturday from 9am to 6pm, and is closed Sunday. The donation dock closes 30 minutes before the store Monday through Friday and one hour before close on Saturdays.
The Clayton ReStore pairs a furniture and home-improvement inventory with a mission that stays in Johnston County, where its expansion supports both a broader selection for shoppers and the construction of affordable homes in the community it serves.
