Founders Joe Scully and Kevin Westmoreland met when their sons joined a local YMCA program. Joe began his career in restaurants in 1977 and studied at the Culinary Institute of America in 1987. He later held executive chef roles at Indigo Coastal Grill, The Druid Hills Golf Club, and the United Nations in New York City. Kevin spent 15 years in management before partnering with Joe to open Corner Kitchen in February 2004. Their success led them to open Chestnut at 48 Biltmore Ave when the opportunity arose.
