The business traces its start to 1968, when owner Charlie Delk left a corporate job with an oil company based in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, and entered the rental industry through an A to Z Rental franchise. Hurricane Camille struck in 1969, and the young operation helped residents in the aftermath. In 1971, U-Haul bought the A to Z operation, and Delk severed those ties and renamed the business ABC Rental Centers. The company has served the Mississippi Gulf Coast since 1968. Its stated approach is to keep a large selection of tools, machinery, and equipment for jobs of every size, and to support do-it-yourself customers with homeowner rental equipment and advice on using it. Store hours at the Ocean Springs location are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM and Saturday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM, closed Sunday.

The Ocean Springs store sits on Bienville Boulevard, about a tenth of a mile from Ocean Springs Road and roughly a quarter mile from Ocean Springs Hospital. Fort Bayou Estates Children's Park is about 0.2 miles away, Clay Boyd Park about 0.6 miles, and Government Street about 0.4 miles.

ABC Rental Center of Ocean Springs has earned a positive rating from the customers who have reviewed it, and the ABC Rental Centers name has stood for service and knowledge in the rental industry on the Gulf Coast since 1968.

For celebrations and job sites alike in Ocean Springs, the store pairs a deep party catalog with the tools and machinery the coast has relied on for more than five decades.
