Our Kids Christian Academy

Our Kids Christian Academy is a Preschool in Byram, MS, located at 40 Holiday Rambler Lane. The academy offers a values-based early childhood education curriculum designed to help children grow into independent, creative, respectful, and God-loving individuals. The program aims to mirror the values upheld by parents, acting as a supplement to parenting by giving children opportunities to practice problem-solving skills using the same household values. The center serves families in Byram and the surrounding Mississippi area, offering a safe and happy environment where children can learn and grow spiritually, physically, emotionally, intellectually, and socially at their own pace.

The academy focuses on intellectual, mental, and physical development through experiential learning, facilitating activities for children to participate in. The faculty of experienced educators guides children in applying the skills they learn, preparing them for higher school-age challenges emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Children receive quality personal and individualized care in a warm, family-like setting where they can feel safe and loved while building a positive self-image. The curriculum includes practice in language development, math readiness, creative play, social skills, music, fine motor, large motor, and self-help skills. The Pre-K curriculum was developed by the center owner, who holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and is a PDS Specialist for the Council of Professional Recognition.

Deonchental Gilbert, the owner, is a wife and mother who has lived in the Mississippi area for 26 years. She has made a name for herself in the childcare industry with over 25 years of management experience and 15 years of childcare experience. After struggling to find good quality childcare for her own children while in the workforce, she opened the center with a vow to provide a high-quality, loving, and educational environment. The name Our Kids Christian Academy reflects her commitment to serving children as if they were her own, ensuring the safety and security of every child is the top priority.

The academy operates from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm, providing flexible hours for working parents. Families can contact the center via phone at (601) 321-9831 or by email at [email protected].
