Liston Design Build is a third-generation family business with more than 40 years in the industry. More than 80% of its new business comes from referrals or past clients. Its in-house design team collaborates with clients to shape ideas, select finishes, and plan details, and projects move through a process the company calls Discovery, Design, Develop, Build, and Service. The company takes on design/build projects beyond traditional construction, and its work includes moving plumbing and selecting fixtures for bathrooms and reworking lower levels into spaces such as wine cellars, home offices, and home theaters. One client described the team weaving old and new into an addition to a 150-year-old home, repurposing the family's own materials; another in St. Charles described a kitchen rebuilt around how the family actually functions.

The business sits on 1st Capitol Dr, about a tenth of a mile from First Capitol Drive and the Alumni House museum, and roughly the same distance from South Kingshighway Street. North Kingshighway Street is about two tenths of a mile away, Young Hall Auditorium about the same, and the Saint Charles post office about three tenths of a mile from the location.

Liston Design Build has earned a positive rating from the customers who have reviewed it, and its referral-driven workload reflects the trust clients place in the third-generation team. For St. Charles homeowners planning a kitchen, bath, basement, or whole-home project, that combination of long local history and repeat clients is the measure of the firm.
