Steffel Pest Control is locally owned and operated, with more than 30 years of experience in pest control. Its stated mission is to provide a professional service and a detailed treatment plan for each home, farm or business, with attention to environmental and customer safety. The company notes that its technicians are professional in appearance and that it uses current, effective products, backed by knowledge of pest habits, life cycles and food preferences so treatments are applied at the right time and place. It explains that results vary by pest and treatment method, that routine maintenance prevents pests from returning, and that fleas and bed bugs often require more than one appointment because their life cycles include dormant phases that treatments do not reach.

The company's pest library covers carpenter ants, which nest in moisture-damaged wood such as fences and decks and are active in spring and summer, and wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, mud daubers, bald-faced hornets and cicada killer wasps, describing where each builds nests and how colonies are organized. It also addresses rodents, which gnaw on building materials, contaminate food and spread disease, and advises keeping firewood away from the home and preventing standing water to reduce carpenter ant nesting sites.

Steffel Pest Control is located at 3656 S Broadway St. Customers describe the staff as prompt, professional and courteous, with one noting a rat problem was handled right away at a price they were impressed by.
