Creative License

Creative License is an event planner in White Bear Lake, MN. The company handles wedding and event decorating throughout the Minnesota metro area and eastern Wisconsin, serving clients planning weddings, corporate events, holiday parties, and other celebrations. It holds a rating of 5.00 based on customer reviews.

Founded in 2001 by owner and head designer Terry Gentry, Creative License grew out of Gentry's more than twenty-five years in the wedding and special event industry, including earlier work as an event designer and buyer for a large national event company. The staff is a small, handpicked team of experienced decorators, and the company deliberately limits the number of weddings and events it books on any given day to keep hands-on attention on each booking. Consultations can be held at the client's venue or at the company's warehouse, with phone-based coordination also available. Events and weddings are coordinated directly with the client or with the venue contact rather than through a large booking operation.

The decorating work covers ceremony decor, ceiling draping, chair covers, linens, backdrops, centerpieces, and lighting, with ceiling draping described as a particular specialty using professional-grade fabric in standard white and ivory. Chair cover options include fitted polyester, scuba, and spandex styles in a range of colors, with a sash selection that runs to more than one hundred colors, textures, and patterns. Ala carte ceiling accents such as paper lanterns, kissing balls, ribbon accents, and crystal chandeliers are also available.

The office sits on Buerkle Road, with White Bear Avenue about two tenths of a mile away, Hanlo's Pond roughly a third of a mile out, and Lakewood Hills Park about half a mile from the door.

The 5.00 rating reflects the experience of the customers who have hired Creative License for their events and weddings. That track record of repeat and referral work, built over more than two decades serving the Twin Cities and eastern Wisconsin, is what the company is best known for locally.
