The business grew out of a family with deep local roots. Members of the Tikalsky family ran general stores, drove school buses and served the public around New Prague before the engraving shop existed. Danny Tikalsky, born and raised in New Prague, completed vocational school and worked for United Steel in Montgomery and North Carolina before returning home. He brought technical experience and a lifelong love of woodworking, a craft built on patience, skill and attention to detail. Around 2008 he launched Tikalsky Laser Engraving as a hands-on operation offering custom engraving and cutting. Customers bring in ideas, from a sign for the city park to a personalized tumbler or a commemorative plaque, and leave with a finished piece. The shop fuses traditional values with advanced laser technology.
