Nelson's Auto Repair

Nelson's Auto Repair is an auto repair shop in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at 2809 Lyndale Ave S in the Uptown neighborhood. It holds a rating of 4.70 based on 259 reviews. The shop works on all makes and models and has built a reputation for its work on European and Asian imports, including Audis, BMWs, Saabs, Mazdas, and Mitsubishis. Family owned and operated since 2008, it is supported by multiple ASE certified technicians and the latest diagnostic equipment. Same-day service is available for most repairs, along with shuttle service, loaner vehicles, and after-hours drop-off. Every qualified repair is backed by a 2-year/24,000-mile nationwide warranty through NAPA.

The shop was built on the belief that drivers deserve dealership-level expertise without the dealership experience. It approaches each job with the same care, from oil changes to engine replacements, and diagnoses are tailored to the specific make and model rather than applied in cookie-cutter fashion. Nelson's Automotive has grown from one person with a wrench into five neighborhood locations across the Twin Cities, with the Uptown location serving drivers from Lyn-Lake, Lowry Hill East, the Wedge, Linden Hills, and Whittier. The team includes a manager and technicians dedicated to the Uptown shop.

The shop sits on Lyndale Avenue South, about a tenth of a mile from Intermedia Arts and Vera's Garden, and roughly the same distance from the Lyndale Avenue Bridge and the Garfield Avenue Bridge. The Midtown Greenway is about two tenths of a mile away. Lake Street, I-94, and Hennepin Avenue are all within close range.

Nelson's Auto Repair has earned a strong local reputation reflected in consistently high customer ratings and an established track record built on a large base of customer reviews. It is an official NAPA AutoCare Center, and its ASE-certified technicians handle everything from routine oil changes to engine replacements. The shop also gives back to Minneapolis through volunteer repairs for nonprofits, support for local shelters, and partnerships with area schools to train future technicians. For Uptown drivers who want dealership-level expertise without the dealership experience, Nelson's Auto Repair has been a neighborhood fixture on Lyndale Avenue since 2008.
