The business traces to 1930, when Joseph C. Rehkamp moved to Marshall to work for the Middleton Funeral Home. In 1938 he purchased the A.L. Soucy Funeral Home and renamed it Rehkamp Funeral Home, and since 1946 the Marshall funeral home has been located on West Lyon Street. Paul and Jack Rehkamp purchased the Nordquist and Bourgeois Funeral Home in Minneota in 1971. Quinn Horvath joined the staff in 1992, and in 2004 the firm was renamed Rehkamp & Horvath Funeral Directors; Quinn purchased the funeral home from Paul and Jack Rehkamp that same year. Land across the street was secured in 2012, and the Horvath Remembrance Center was built in the spring and summer of 2020 and opened that October. The Horvath Remembrance Centers of Tracy and Balaton, originally known as Almlie Funeral Home, served the area for more than 40 years before Quinn Horvath purchased an interest in 2014 and the remaining interest in December 2016.

Quinn Horvath is the owner and a funeral director, a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a degree in mortuary science. Alyssa Jeppesen is a funeral director and certified celebrant who began with the firm as a funeral director's assistant in 2017 and has been licensed since August 2019.

The Marshall location sits on West Lyon Street, about a tenth of a mile from the Lyon County Museum and the United States Post Office, and roughly two tenths of a mile from Memorial Park, the Redwood River, and West College Drive.
