Kaddatz Galleries

Kaddatz Galleries is a gallery in Fergus Falls, MN, situated in Downtown Fergus Falls on West Lincoln Avenue. It operates as a nonprofit visual arts organization working to foster art education and appreciation, celebrating area artists and preserving the legacy of painter Charles Beck. Programming rotates through a main gallery, a separate Charles Beck Gallery, and a Studio K space, and includes juried exhibitions, adult and youth art classes, a Summer Arts Academy, and an online shop carrying work by Charles Beck and other regional artists. Admission to the gallery is free, and the organization serves Fergus Falls and the surrounding west central Minnesota region. It holds a rating of 4.80 from customers who have reviewed it.

The organization took shape in 2008, when local art enthusiasts formed a Board of Directors, incorporated as a nonprofit, and, together with Artspace, remodeled part of the main floor of the old Kaddatz Hotel. The gallery opened its doors in 2009 and uses consensus-based decision-making through a working board. The staff is led by Executive Director Nancy X. Valentine and Artistic Director Stacy Wendt, supported by Eric Santwire, Jess Torgerson, and Anna Fremont, with Carolyn Glesne serving as Board President. Education is central to the mission, and Kaddatz Galleries regularly recruits experienced teaching artists to help expand both adult and youth programming. The gallery also documents past projects through photos and blog coverage, and Beck's long career is highlighted through curated shows honoring his paintings, blocks, and prints.

The gallery sits on West Lincoln Avenue in the heart of Downtown Fergus Falls, directly across from the historic Hotel Kadditz Building and around the corner from the Otter Cove Children's Museum. The United States District Court of Minnesota and the Fergus Theater are each roughly a block away.
