The Prop Shop

The Prop Shop is a thrift store and nonprofit in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. It operates a resale store filled with clothing, household items, and furniture sold to the general public, alongside a Family Service area that provides free clothing, household goods, and furniture to local families in need. Families in Eden Prairie and Chanhassen are eligible for that assistance. The organization holds a rating of 4.50 from the customers who have reviewed it.

The Prop Shop is a 501(c)3 charitable organization serving the southwest suburbs of Minneapolis. Donations of gently used clothing, household goods, and furniture are either sold in the resale store or given directly to families for free, and proceeds from store sales buy basic need items such as socks, underwear, blankets, sheets, and towels. The operation runs on a small staff supported by more than 350 volunteers, with a board of directors and coordinators overseeing store operations, donations, volunteering, and family services. Since opening, more than 4,000 people have volunteered and over 40,000 have donated goods. The Family Services program is actively serving 750 local families, and the organization reports 3,936 families served, 3,854 beds provided, and 207,272 bags of items given.

The store sits on Martin Drive, about half a mile from Purgatory Creek, Valley View Road, and Edenvale Park. The Education Center and Eden Prairie Fire Station 1 are roughly six-tenths of a mile away, and Welch Lake is about seven-tenths of a mile from the store.

Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm and Sunday from 12pm to 5pm. Donations are accepted Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 3pm, and those interested in donating furniture are asked to call or email ahead due to space limitations. Family Services hours require an appointment.

The Prop Shop pairs a resale store open to everyone with direct family assistance, and its positive customer rating reflects how Eden Prairie shoppers regard that combination.
