Green Acres Event Center

Green Acres Event Center is a wedding venue in Chanhassen, Minnesota. It hosts weddings, corporate events, parties, graduations, memorial services and community gatherings, with three entertainment spaces included in every rental. The barn is fully climate controlled for year-round events, and the inventory of tables and Chiavari chairs is included. Groups of up to 299 can be accommodated using both levels, and up to 225 for seated dinners on the upper-level Great Room Loft. Two ceremony spaces are available: the Great Room Loft, with chandeliers beneath a Gothic arch roof of aged timbers, and an outdoor spot under a canopy of trees with Staring Lake Park as a backdrop. The venue holds a rating of 4.70.

The building was originally the Goodrich-Ramus barn, built in 1942, and is the oldest standing barn in Eden Prairie. In 2009, Hennepin County considered demolishing it during plans to widen Pioneer Trail, but the City of Eden Prairie and the Historical Society stepped in to save it. Steven Schussler purchased and restored the barn, and requests for weddings, parties, graduations and community events led him to open it as an event center. Green Acres became the first and only event center in Eden Prairie in March 2013, and has executed over 1,000 events since opening. The restoration earned the 2016 Heritage Preservation Award, and original materials were used or exposed where available. Amenities include central heating and air conditioning, airplane-aluminum fans, high-velocity exhaust fans, a handicap-accessible elevator, ramp entrance and bathrooms, and an onsite well-lit parking lot for up to 60 vehicles. Outdoor areas include a brick fireplace, a Cowboy Cauldron for s'mores, pavers for games and tractors. Preferred vendors cover food, bar, DJ, transportation and photography, and the venue partners with award-winning catering companies.

The venue sits on Pioneer Trail, about 15 minutes southwest of Minneapolis, across the street from Flying Cloud Airport and next to Staring Lake Park.
