Holistic Veterinary Care

Holistic Veterinary Care is a veterinarian in Andover, MN, located at 1574 154th Ave NW Suite 108. The practice is situated inside Canine Crossing, a local pet food store in a strip mall on the east side of the intersection of Hanson Blvd and 154th Ave. It holds a 4.70 rating based on customer reviews. The business can be reached at 612-275-2904 or via email. The provider checks email several times a day and returns phone calls at the end of the day, often late in the evening. Texts are also received, but email is the preferred contact method.

The practice focuses on holistic animal care, natural therapies, and supplements. This approach stems from the provider’s experience with a red merle Australian Shepherd suffering from severe allergies. After steroids and thyroid tests failed, changing the dog’s diet cleared symptoms overnight. This led to a shift in perspective regarding vaccines and polypharmacy, where medications counteract the side effects of other drugs.

Melissa Weidenhamer, a natural rearing breeder and certified canine nutritionist, is a partner who created Wellspring, a resource for holistic animal care. The website offers links to a podcast, YouTube channel, Instagram, educational resources, and favorite supplements. Clients can schedule consultations with Melissa for guidance on feeding a raw diet, natural animal care, or holistic breeding practices. A Favorites Page provides recommendations for holistically minded pet professionals.

Consultations can be conducted in person, by phone, or via email. Fees and scheduling details are available on the Dogs and Cats page. For non-emergency questions about the practice, clients can contact the provider directly. Questions about specific pets require scheduling a consultation. The business advises that pets experiencing an emergency should be seen by a regular veterinarian or an emergency hospital. The website is copyrighted 2026 Holistic Veterinary Care and is powered by Weebly.

The practice sits on 154th Avenue Northwest in Andover, Minnesota, about a tenth of a mile from Hanson Boulevard Northwest. It is also located within a quarter mile of Oak View Middle School.
