The company traces its roots to 1975, when Ginny McClennan began her real estate career with Lombard Real Estate at 218 Washington Street in Hart. In 1978, McClennan and Lloyd Failing purchased Lombard and rebranded it as Westshore Real Estate. A few years later, Failing sold his shares to McClennan, who opened a second office in Pentwater in 1983 under the name Anchor Real Estate. Lila Free joined as co-owner that same year, and the Pentwater office eventually moved from the back room of Gales Insurance Company at 144 Hancock into the remodeled old theater, known as the Hancock Building, at 215 Hancock.
