Nelson Floor Covering of Romulus

Nelson Floor Covering of Romulus is a Flooring Contractor in Romulus, MI. The company installs flooring for homeowners across Southeast Michigan and handles commercial and multi-family projects statewide and beyond. It serves three distinct customer types: residential homeowners, commercial clients in office, retail, medical, and industrial settings, and property managers overseeing apartments, condos, and student housing. The business holds a rating of 4.60.

Founded in 1995 by Carl B. Nelson III, Nelson Floor Covering has been family-owned and operated for three decades. The company operates from a facility on Manufacturers Drive in Westland, where it maintains ten dedicated installation crews. Unlike general contractors that occasionally handle floors, this business focuses exclusively on flooring, ensuring that crews know their products, estimates reflect actual job requirements, and finish work remains durable. The team is fully licensed, bonded, and insured. Its process begins with a walk and measure visit to assess how the space is used, followed by a clear product recommendation and an itemized estimate. Installation involves subfloor preparation and finishing work, with options for phased and after-hours work to minimize disruption on commercial sites.

The company installs a wide range of materials, including broadloom carpet, modular carpet tile, solid and engineered hardwood, luxury vinyl tile and plank, and rubber or resilient surfaces for stairwells and service areas. It works with leading manufacturers such as Shaw, Mohawk, Mannington, Tarkett, Engineered Floors, and Titan Surfaces. For multi-family projects, the focus is on consistent product application across buildings and scheduling work to meet leasing deadlines. For commercial clients, the team installs around existing operations to keep job sites clean and low-disruption.

Customers who have reviewed the business have given it a positive rating. Nelson Floor Covering of Romulus serves the local area with a focus on durable, well-finished flooring installations for both homes and commercial properties.
