SweetLife Veterinary Services

SweetLife Veterinary Services is a Veterinarian in Monroe, MI, located at 2492 N Telegraph Rd. The practice specializes in in-home pet euthanasia and quality of life consultations for pets in Southeastern Michigan and Northern Ohio. Dr. Kim Scutchfield leads the service, providing end-of-life care within the comfort of the client’s home to reduce stress for both the animal and the family. The business holds a rating of 5.00 based on customer reviews.

Dr. Kim Scutchfield earned her doctorate degree from Michigan State University in 2008 and is a graduate of Oakland University. She previously practiced for 11 years at The Cat Doctor of Monroe, where she found home visits to be among the most rewarding aspects of her work. After the sudden loss of her brother in 2023, she established SweetLife Veterinary Services, PLLC to combine her passion for animals with the flexibility of home-based care. Her motivation stems from the peacefulness she witnessed during her veterinary school experience when her own cat was euthanized in a garden setting, a contrast to the busy clinical environment.

The service is designed to allow pets to pass in familiar surroundings, surrounded by their families and other housemates. Dr. Kim arrives in street attire to help pets view her as a visiting family friend. Appointments are scheduled seven days a week, with same-day availability attempted but 24-hour notice recommended. The practice is not an emergency service. Dr. Kim can arrange cremation through Green Pastures Pet Cremation and notifies the pet’s regular veterinarian of the passing. Assistance is required for pets weighing more than 30 pounds.

Customers have given the business a positive rating, reflecting satisfaction with the compassionate care provided. Dr. Kim is a member of the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, the Independent End of Life Veterinary Coalition, and the Independent Veterinary Practitioners Association. The practice offers keepsakes including engraved ornaments and wooden portraits through a partnership with SO Engraving.
