Now in its third generation as a family-owned-and-operated business, Vermeulen Furniture has been helping customers furnish their homes since 1925. The Jackson showroom spans 50,000 square feet on a single floor, with room-like settings that let shoppers see, touch, and experience the styles, fabrics, and colors before buying. Customers can purchase from in-stock inventory for next-day delivery or customize and custom-order pieces from thousands of fabrics, leathers, and finish choices. The store also offers complimentary In-Home Design Services, with consultants visiting the home or working with shoppers in-store to plan around room dimensions, natural light, lifestyle, and budget, and a free online room planner that uses interior design and floor planning software. The design team includes Sales Manager Shawn Avery, who has spent over 37 years in the furniture and bedding business and is a lifelong Jackson resident, as well as furniture and design consultants Jim Clark (32 years with the store and 40 years in the industry), Chris Pelton, Jennifer Sawle, and several others. Vermeulen Furniture also participates in the local Tuition Reduction Incentive Program (TRIP), letting families apply purchase amounts toward school tuition. The Vermeulen family has supported local non-profit organizations and charities since the store opened in 1925.

The store sits on West Michigan Avenue, with Westwood Mall about a third of a mile away and Harrington School roughly two-fifths of a mile from the front door.

A long-standing Jackson retailer with a century of continuous family operation, Vermeulen Furniture pairs a 50,000-square-foot showroom with on-staff designers and a roster of well-known furniture brands.
